Roger Taylor, Chief Executive

Roger holds a BA in Economics and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from Bangor University and has lectured in Economics, Finance and Securities Markets at Exeter University, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. After leaving the academic world, he entered the City of London, working at a number of leading houses including: Lazard Brothers, Mellon-Pictet and Global Asset Management.

In his roles as a senior portfolio manager, Roger developed highly systematic, quantitative investment approaches, leading teams to deliver those strategies for the benefit of large institutional clients. In 1997, he established his own independent investment management company, managing in excess of $500m in hedge fund strategies, again employing proprietary, advanced quantitative techniques. As a leading industry practitioner, Roger has spoken at numerous investment conferences, both in the UK and abroad, and has published articles in the Journal of Behavioral Finance and the Alternative Investment Management Association Journal.

Roger oversees the day-to-day operations of the company and also participates in consultations, Focus Days and the Insight Programmes.

Sheridan Taylor, Head of Consultancy and Academic Programmes

Sheridan is a leading consultant and tutor with over ten years' experience in education consultancy and mentoring students, many of whom are aiming for top universities, including Oxbridge. Her knowledge of both Oxford and Cambridge is simply outstanding, contributing to her excellent overall success rate.

Sheridan has guided numerous students through the university application process, offering insight wherever necessary. She is always very honest in her appraisals, enabling students to focus on the courses and  institutions which provide the best fit.

As the Head of Consultancy, Sheridan takes a keen interest in the company's programmes for supporting disadvantaged students. She also has a personal interest in developing programmes specifically for veterans and the children of those serving in the British Armed Forces. Scholasta is excited to be working actively on these developing programmes. (Click here for more information).

Sheridan has a somewhat unusual profile having read Mathematics with Physics at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, before going on to read Classics at Somerville College, Oxford. Not content with gaining entry to read both Arts and Sciences, she did so with the benefit of a nominal 'EE' offer from Cambridge and an unconditional offer from Oxford. Sheridan also holds an M.Sc. in Psychology from Kingston University, where she has also lectured, led seminar groups and supervised projects while writing her Ph.D in Psychoeconometrics. She has  published in the leading, peer-reviewed Journal of Behavioral Finance and has appeared at academic conferences both in the UK and the US, including the world-renowned, annual Psychonomic Society conference.  She has since returned to Cambridge to complete a PACES (Educational Assessment) and an MEd (Transforming Practice) at Sidney Sussex College.  Her research focuses on Wellness within education.

Sheridan is deeply committed to educational development and is central to driving Scholasta's core ethos of excellence.

Stuart gained 'SS' grades in his STEP examinations, and is an experienced tutor and mentor.

He specialises in preparing students for STEP examinations, as required by Cambridge and other Russell Group Universities.

Pamela Clemo, Head of Events and Professional Development

Pamela oversees all of Scholasta’s events, including Focus Days and Insight Programmes.

Initially a career academic, Pamela's interest in international trade and EU law led her, after her initial LL.B and Law Society Part II Qualifying Examinations, to undertake postgraduate work in International Business Legal Studies at master level and a Ph.D on the legal implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy as evidenced by the case law before the European Court of Justice. In addition, Pamela achieved a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Exeter and a Diplome d’Etudes Superieures from the University of Aix-en-Provence in the South of France, having been awarded a scholarship from the French Government.

As a career lawyer, Pamela worked at Cameron McKenna and then at Hogan Lovell where she was part of the then EEC team. This led to her undertaking advisory work at DEFRA before establishing her own practice in 1984.

With such a background it is perhaps no surprise that Pamela plays an active role in the company’s popular legal Insight Programmes, inspiring prospective students to pursue their abilities in the increasingly complex and demanding legal arena.
